Ready for some healthy sourdough cheese crackers? These are so simple and absolutely delicious! With just 5 ingredients, they can be make in a pinch.
You can use freshly milled hard wheat flour to make these or all purpose. Both options work wonderfully. I prefer freshly milled, using my Harvest NutriMill to grind my grain.
Feel free to change up the type of cheese you use, as well as the seasoning to make these crackers your own! Enjoy
Baked Sourdough Cheese Crackers
Ingredients
- 1 cup fed sourdough starter
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 3/4 cup flour (I used freshly milled hard wheat)
- 1/2 tsp seasoning plus more for sprinkling the tops
- Oil to brush the top of crackers
Instructions
1.Combine starter, flour, cheese, and seasoning. Knead until all the flour is combined.
2.Wrap the dough airtight in plastic wrap and let rest 20 minutes.
3.Roll out thin. Brush with oil and sprinkle with additional seasoning. Cut into squares.
4.Bake for 10 minutes at 400°F or until the edges get slightly golden and the cheese bubbles. Let cool COMPLETELY if you like a crunchy cracker.
