This recipe is made with 100% freshly ground wheat. Not only is it delicious, it is full of whole grain nutrition as it has all of the bran and germ still in it!
Now, truth be told the cinnamon swirl effect is seen much better in the actual batter than it is the cooked waffle. However, that swirl pattern isn’t just for appearances. It gives a sweet crunch throughout the waffle that is really delicious.
I enjoy topping this waffles with a pat of butter and a honey butter sauce. You can do maple syrup if you’d like, but something about that cinnamon flavor and honey all over the top….it just works!
Honey butter sauce is so easy. Just eyeball it and add about equal parts honey and butter! I like there to be a smidge more honey than butter, but some don’t. Just try it and see what you prefer!
