This recipe uses one ingredient items to create a dry mix you can use anytime you need a “cream of…..” soup! All you have to do is mix 1/3 cup of this dry mix with about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of liquid. For a cream of chicken soup, use chicken broth or chicken stock as your liquid. To save resources, I prefer to use water. The dry mix is milk based, so there is plenty of flavor already. Ingredients
- 2 cups of dry milk powder
- 3/4 cup of cornstarch
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of onion powder
- 3/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons of parsley
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Transfer to a quart jar and store.
To use, stir 1/3 cup of mix with one to one and a half cups of liquid in a saucepan over medium heat. Let thicken. For cream of chicken, use chicken broth or chicken stock.
