This pizza crust recipe is amazing! So easy to make and delicious!
Ingredients
- 4 cups of flour (all purpose or whole grain)
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 1 TBSP sugar or honey
- 2 1/4 teaspoons of yeast * (see note for sourdough)
- 1 3/4 cups of warm water
- 2 TBSP EVOO
Instructions
1. Mix yeast in warm water. Add sugar. Let bloom.
2. Add remaining ingredients into a mixer with a dough hook attachment. Pour in water and yeast mixture. Mix until well combined, being sure to scrape the bottom of the mixing bowl to get any packed flour.
3. Cover and let rise 1.5 hours.
4. Preheat oven to 425° F. Flour your surface and divide dough into the number of pizzas you want. This will yield 4-6 personal pizzas, 3 mediums, or 2 pretty large pies.
4. For a fluffy crust, bake the crust 3-4 minutes BEFORE adding your toppings. For a thin crust, roll thin ans do not bake before adding toppings.
5. Once your toppings are on, bake pizza for 9-12 minutes. Watch it carefully! Enjoy!
Notes
For a sourdough pizza crust, make sure you feed your starter the day before you went to make pizza. It the yeast and add 1 cup of fed sourdough. Mix all ingredients in one bowl. Let rise 4-6 hours.
